Baltimore Archbishop prepares to receive pallium
By Catholic Review Staff
Pilgrims from Baltimore and the Diocese of Bridgeport, Conn. who are in Rome to see Archbishop William E. Lori of Baltimore receive his pallium, have had the opportunity to tour the Basilica of San Clemente in Rome, where Archbishop Lori celebrated Mass. They also visited the residence of U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See, Miguel Diaz and his wife, Marian, who hosted the pilgrims and the four U.S. bishops who will receive palliums.
Archbishop Lori is scheduled to receive the pallium, a circular band of wool worn around the neck, conferred by Pope Benedict XVI, on June 29, the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul.
