The Jewishness of Jesus
Jul 19 2015 03:00 PM
Retreat and Conference Center at Bon Secours
1525 Marriottsville Rd
Marriottsville, MD 21104

July 19 @ 3:00 pm - July 24 @ 1:00 pm Cost: $575.00 Guided by: Fr. Bob Albright Jesus was not a Christian! Jesus was a child of first century Israel, under Roman occupation, the Second Temple period of Jewish history, born and raised in the hills of Galilee. In plain language, Jesus was a Jew! The Jewishness of Jesus has been hidden behind layers of contempt, prejudice and misunderstanding for two thousand years. It has only been recently uncovered in modern times by Biblical scholars who know that to continue to hide this fact is to perpetuate a wrong reading of the New Testament and to in authenticate his role in history. And so, this retreat begins with the premise that Jesus was a Jew! For any believer, this will be a lot to contemplate. This retreat will help begin this much-needed process for committed Christians. Guided by Fr. Robert Albright. Check-in begins at 3pm and dinner is served at 6pm. The retreat will begin after dinner. To register, visit us online at www.RCCBonSecours.com or call the Welcome Center at 410-442-3120.

We will explore the lives of these women through first person faith-sharing: • Claudia, wife of Pontius Pilate • Mary, wife of Clopas (Cleopas) • Joanna, wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward • Salome, wife of Zebedee and mother of James and John • Unnamed maidservant of High Priest Caiaphas • Unnamed daughters of Jerusalem • Unnamed woman who anointed Jesus’ head • Veronica, who wiped the Face of Jesus Through these stories, we will mentor our own evolving consciousness of Jesus’ resurrection and His continuing spirit living within and amongst us. Please bring your Bible. Check-in begins at 3pm. Dinner will be served at 6pm and the retreat will begin after dinner.
